Dear PACT Families,

We know that this month has been difficult for you and your family. This type of health pandemic in our country has never happened in our lives. Thank you for doing everything you can to keep your family safe. To those of you that have essential work or community involvement, we thank you for your services.

Enclosed are a couple of booklets to share with your family and children. These booklets could be a way to talk with your family and help young children to understand what is happening, in a way that has meaning for them. We would love to hear your feedback on these resources that were developed especially for the COVID-19 emergency.

Teaching Strategies is offering their newest digital resource, ParentPal, to you at no cost until July 30, 2020. It provides tools to help support learning at home. It offers families a daily roadmap to follow each day that promotes active, joyful engagement and developmentally appropriate progress through key milestones from birth through age 3, with additional activities and support through age 5. We encourage you to download it today. This tool goes with the curriculum that your child receives at PACT, and also is in line with the TS Gold assessment that your teacher shares with you about your child’s development. Find it on the App Store of your mobile device.

PACT will be distributing diapers and wipes to Early Head Start families that need them. Please contact your family advocate or home based teacher with the diaper size and your contact information. You must contact them by April 23, 2020, if you have a need. You may also email sedison@pactheadstart.com or eadler@pactheadstart.com with the information.

Also, let us know if you need referrals or have questions. You can tell your HB Teacher or Family Advocate or use our FB page messaging system or email me at sedison@pactheadstart.com

Strategic Plan

PACT’s Strategic Planning Process for our new plan began in Winter 2016, with a dedicated group of  staff, representing agency-wide positions. From this group a Steering Committee formed to put forth new goals and objectives for Policy Council and Board approval early in 2018. Work on the goals (by committees or staff operations) will be reviewed by the Steering Committee quarterly and reported annually.

School Readiness Goals & Outcomes

The school readiness goals for the children’s outcomes are aligned with the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework and the Illinois Early Learning Guidelines and the Illinois Early Learning Development Standards. They were developed in cooperation with the school districts in PACT’s eight county service area.  PACT assesses the development of the Head Start and Early Head Start children at least 3 times a year, using the Teaching Strategies GOLD assessment system.
