Mission Statement

The mission of Parent and Child Together (PACT) for West Central Illinois is to provide a high quality comprehensive program of education, health, and social services to children and their families, developing life-long learners.

To: ALL PACT Families

From: Shanna Edison, Executive Director

Date: April 1, 2020

SUBJECT: COV-ID 19 and Head Start

PACT will be following the Governor’s Directive as announced yesterday, 3/31/2020, to be closed through 4/30/2020. PACT Board of Directors approved in March 2020 to follow the State school closure policy for this COV-ID 19 emergency.

We will be reviewing the budget and determining how many of the missed days we could make up when we get closer to the end of the closure.

We would like for you to complete the survey at the following link so that we can assist you, if needed. We are distributing a FAMILY SURVEY through surveymonkey.com. The link is https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/8BSVG2T for PACT families to complete.

We want to make sure learning continues during this time of uncertainty.  In order to ensure this happens we have been posting Weekly Goal Chart Activities, Inkind Record Reports and other fun activities on our PACT Facebook page.  If you have not yet done so, please like our Facebook page, Parent and Child Together-PACT for West Central Illinois, to make sure you have access to all our activities and resources.  If you don't have access to a printer, please ask your child's teacher for some Inkind Record Reports when we return to school.  As always, we encourage you to read to your child daily!

Please watch the PACT FaceBook page and your text messages for updates from PACT. If you haven’t been receiving text messages from PACT, please email me at sedison@pactheadstart.com.

Continue to check the cdc.gov website for guidance for your family and neighborhoods.  Also, your local health department is the official agency for directives in your local towns and counties about the COV-ID 19 virus pandemic.

We appreciate you and the work you do for PACT families. Take care of yourselves as you are caring for your children and families.

Strategic Plan

PACT’s Strategic Planning Process for our new plan began in Winter 2016, with a dedicated group of  staff, representing agency-wide positions. From this group a Steering Committee formed to put forth new goals and objectives for Policy Council and Board approval early in 2018. Work on the goals (by committees or staff operations) will be reviewed by the Steering Committee quarterly and reported annually.

School Readiness Goals & Outcomes

The school readiness goals for the children’s outcomes are aligned with the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework and the Illinois Early Learning Guidelines and the Illinois Early Learning Development Standards. They were developed in cooperation with the school districts in PACT’s eight county service area.  PACT assesses the development of the Head Start and Early Head Start children at least 3 times a year, using the Teaching Strategies GOLD assessment system.
